The standing association of Sarrum's transport and maintenance companies (carriers' masters, the wharf company, tramroad owners, engine houses), constituted in 4482 to maintain the four transport roads, the tramroad, the wharf gear and the cistern fabric by direct payment. It has never fixed a price.

It bought the four acres of the Black Stone spring in 4488 and in 4551 undertook to give every person a free quart a day forever, an undertaking entered only in its own book. Four wardens serve the ration and twelve men guard the spring day and night. It granted the Brothers of Mercy a standing draw in 4573. Every reputable establishment refuses commissions touching the spring.
