Argent Basin Company
Also called Argent Basin
The defunct fourth charter house of the mining phase, founded by the assay brothers, which pursued ore concessions with assay guards, sappers, mule columns and hired marines, and a technical culture that raised engineers nearly to the rank of captains.
A chartered company that pursued ore trusting assay tables over weather, spirit memory and burial cost; its ruin in 4601 is the standard warning.

It was broken by false assay, mutiny over advanced wages, and the failed relief convoy at Grey Salt Haven in 4601; the name is now a byword warning against ledgers that grow too rich too fast. Its abandoned holdings generate honest, well-paid commissions. Not to be confused with the earlier, successful Relief of Argent Basin.
