Hidden Lamp

Afflicted devotional circles and networks revering Brother Alwin Grey-Scale, a visibly afflicted lay brother who hid malformed children from lawful examination. Their symbol is a covered lamp lit when a child must be moved, a body hidden from a mob, or a mother protected; their prayer is 'Hide the child until mercy wakes.'

Covert circles working where birth-room silence, ward searches and hospital custody meet: they move newborns, hide mothers, bribe carriers, dry damaged seals, find priests willing to touch the child and sometimes forge papers.
